Cathy and Danny’s Magical Kukahiko Estate Wedding

When Cathy and Danny approached wedding planner Tori Rogers of Hawaii Weddings by Tori Rogers to plan their wedding, there was one caviat…their $10,000 budget for 20 guests (which later became 31 guests and an increased budget). Tori knew Cathy from the nail shop on Maui called VIP Nails and wanted to create a magical wedding experience for them, and it was important to include their daughter, as well.

So, Tori got on the phone and called some of her favorite vendors, booked one of her favorite locations, and made it work. It took some great effort, but because of Tori’s inventory of items and vendor resources, she was able to create something very special for the couple and their guests.

Cathy had a long list of items and services she had dreamed about for her wedding. It included a chuppah with a floral cluster, most everything in white with a purple accent (Danny REALLY liked the purple accent color), delicious food, excellent photography and videography, a beautiful oceanfront property, a gorgeous bouquet, a groom’s maile lei, a Hawaiian officiant, a petal path, a live musician for the ceremony,  a bar (especially water and iced tea available in attractive dispensers), and a fabulous wedding cake. Well, her wish was Tori’s command, and Tori did not fail to provide all of that and more.

Fortunately, the Kukahiko Estate was available on their desired date, which was their dating anniversary. Then, Hawaiian style officiant Rev. Dennis DeRego was available and confirmed. Kaniala was the best choice for a Hawaiian musician who also played the bride’s desired entrance song…”A Thousand Years.” Tori knew photographer Cassie Pali of  Creative Island Visions would be the perfect fit for this couple and work well wtih videographer Brian Rothstein of yourwebcast.com. As you can see by these perfect photos, she WAS the perfect choice.  It was a no brainer that the chuppah with fabric and chairs would come from Pacific Isle Rentals. Once Tori knew of the couple’s food desired, Cafe O’Lei was the obvious choice for catering their plated meal. In fact, they were more than accommodating when the couple ended up with more guests than expected. The cake from Maui Wedding Cakes was just what the bride and groom wanted, and Dellables exceeded the couple’s expectations. Wanting to keep the wedding favors unique and made on Maui, Tori contacted Lori of Maui Macaroons and ordered 2 different flavors for each guest to have.  Tori had help from her assistant Darci and Debbie to use the flowers from the arch piece and create various vases of flowers to go down the table. Tori provided the rest. The tables, the linens, the beverage containers, the portable amplifier to play their iPod music, the gold chargers, signs, printed menus also used as place cards, bar items, gift card box, and more (including extra items for the unexpected guests).  A professional bartender (Debbie) was on site (required by the estate) to serve the guests.

The weather cooperated and all was well. A group of fabulous Maui wedding vendors created a most magical wedding day and night for a local Maui couple, creating their exact vision and exceeding their expectations. Enjoy the slideshow!
